The MTV Staying Alive Foundation approached made to redesign and redevelop the website for MTV Shuga. The award-winning drama series is part of a multi-channel campaign that aims to educate and signpost support to young people regarding a variety of sexual health issues in Africa.
The end result updates both the visual style and the core functionality; with a clear focus on user interaction and participation.
Working in partnership with UX/UI designer Rich Brown, who helped reimagine the SHUGA website, our team of in-house developers updated both its visual style and core functionality; emphasising user interaction, personalisation and access to subject specific support.
Key additional functionality was developed allowing users to take a ‘quiz’ and identify with a particular character from the series.
The site is content focused and designed to engage users in sensitive and challenging issues. Video content from the series is directly linked with the key messages and support information, making issues more accessible and the website a valuable component in the campaign as a whole.
